Chemical peel is a technique used to improve appearance and texture of the skin by peeling outermost skin surface thereby revealing new , softer and fresh skin which is beneath the dead skin layer.

Chemical peels are categorized as Superficial, medium and deep peels. Superficial peels are those which contain less percentage of free acid (up to 10%) which do not penetrate below epidermis (outermost skin layer) which is mostly accumulated dead skin.

Medium and deep peels contain higher percentages of free acid and are performed only under medical supervision.
